Australia, the land downunder is about 2/3 the size of mainland United States of America, has 5 states and 2 territories and consist of natural wonders and the ever loving wildlife. Australia's most well known attractions are Sydney's Opera House, Harbour Bridge, the Hunter Valley wine region, and the Blue Mountains. But not too far from sydney are its National Parks where the Australian wildlife can be seen. The tourings options are something that I am focusing on as it is a real highlight to see the Australian bush, wildlife and to complete any tour is to have an Australian Bush bar-b-que in the midst of the wilderness paradise.

Cairns has wonderful options with the spectacular Great Barrier Reef, but did you know that the Daintree Rainforest, starting just a few minutes from Cairns is where you can see all about the Aboriginal way of life. See the story of the Aboriginal Dreaming, the food that the Aboriginal people retrieved from the bush and how the found medical requirements as well. Also a wonderful place for an early morning balloon ride over this pre-historic forest wilderness, or perhaps enjoy the wonders with a Breakfast with the native Australian bird and kangaroos at Port Douglas.

Melbourne is where you can have dinner whilst touring the city!, watch the penguins on parade as the return from the ocean to their burrows, and for a drive to see the 12 aposotles just as the sun is setting for the evening. But also; you can go on a walkabout wildlife guided tour over the savannah to see Australian Kangaroos, koalas, and Australian native birds. Quite amazing to do this type of tour without heading towards the Outback of Ayers Rock or Kakadu National Park.

Kangaroo Island is a wonder within itself. Where else in the world can you see Kangaroos, Koalas, and seals in one day! and then sit back over lunch in the middle of the Australian gum trees while enjoying that amazing Australian style Barbque. Quite a feet to accommplish, but as a person who has lived in Australia for 14 years and seen every state and territory of Australia, I can assist you by personally experiencing this land downunder.

Ayers Rock and Alice Springs are part of the Outback that takes you into this what seems every expansive zone of wilderness. To sit under the sky and see first hand the million and one stars of the milky way will memorise you fo the entire evening. Perhaps enjoy a 3 course dinner, or if that is not to your liking perhaps a tour with an astromer or take a camel to dinner. Here touring is a never-ending product that concentrates on the sunrise and sunset of the sun to capture the best moments of the day. A tour of Ayers Rock allows you to see first hand the Aboriginal prospective of this monolith. Alice Springs is where you can also experience the Aboriginal way of life, see how the flying doctor service makes its rounds, or for an experience of a lifetime a birds eye view over this vast outback of Australia is a wonder within itself.

Australia Wildlife tour

Kangaroos and Koalas are inconic emblems of Australia. The land downunder has opportunites to see these and other Australian wildlife in either their natural habitat or in a zoo.  If you would like to see them in their natural habitat there is also an opportunity to see other lesser known animals. Your guide is more than happy to explain to you these animals and any other details for you.

There are wilderness savannah tours just outside the major cities of Australia where you can see the icons in their own natural habitat. These Australian wildlife tours are on foot with a naturalist to guide you to the best vantage point to take advantage of any opportunity as it arises.

These tours that offer Australia wildlife tours also offer a chance to have an Australian Bush Bar-b-que in the midst of the Australian bush that gives you an opportunity if you wish to sample the best of Australian wines and beer, what everyone has been telling you of this great countryside bushland, and a scenic walkabout to enjoy the bush and its surrounds.

The Australian Wildlife Zoo outside Brisbane gives you the best wildlife of Tropical North Australia. Here in this zoo there are the crocodiles, all types of snakes, and Australia birds. You can talk to a zoo keeper, have animal encounters, and take a zoo escorted tour. Here just outside Brisbane, is a wonderful place to be educated on the animal of Tropical northern Australia.

A wonderful opportunity is also offered in Cairns about 2 hours flight north of Brisbane. Here at the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, is also tropcial zoos, a chance to have Breakfast with the Birds, or see the noctural animals of Australia. The tropical zoo also shows you the crocodiles, snakes and other Tropical North animals, but also a chance to glimpse into the live of notural animals. It is here that you learn all about their lives, habitat, and where they are found within Australia.

With Breakfast with the Birds a chance to enjoy a tropical breakfast before see these colorful tropical north animals. Here there is a huge enclosure that these birds fly around and their habitat is replicated so you can see a glimpse into their life. This is a wonderful experience and holds great memories for me.

If you are really into an adventure and willing to stay out in the open then I suggest that a river kayak down the Katherine River. This is where I got within 30 feet of many Australia wildlife and where I took the picture that is attached.

Australia Hotels

The Hotels in Australia have the amenities that we have come to expect when traveling. From the nice service when we check-in, to modern day core, well laid out rooms that makes this our temporary home. But Australian Hotels also have an added feature and this is especially so when you know where to look. There are hotels, and resorts that are located where the reef meets a rainforest, an outback station on a million acres to enjoy the wonderment of the location it sits at in the Australian outback, or taking the best of the wildlife that inhabit the region or a drive showcasing what a self drive is all about. Australia Hotels take pride in showing Australia to the visitor and to incorporate themselves into the environment instead of the other way around is making it to be a pleasure to vacation in Australia.

Sydney Hotels have an advantage for unique Australian icons. The Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge and of course the Sydney Harbor are three extremely well known icons. But each hotel also offers uniqueness within them and there are upgradeable rooms for a small charge that offer a more scenic room and amenities. For instance a hotel that beams onto the Sydney Harbor Bridge, Opera House and that Harbor itself is true spectacle feature. As a person who lived in Sydney for over 9 years you come to know it very well, and can advise of the best feature for you.
If these hotels are not for you as you love the idea of day touring galore, there are hotels within the Opera House that have their own delightfulness, and still have features that you would not find anywhere else. For instance a hotel that has the bridge and harbor views, but one that sits on its own pier, or perhaps the roof top to enjoy the view right down the Sydney Harbor.

Australia wines have made their mark on the world and have been come to be appreciated by the world over. Here in Sydney there are day touring options to visit the Hunter Valley, but did you know that there are extended touring options for you to enjoy the wine regions. Here in the wine region hinterland you can find hotels, and resorts the freedom to explore the wineries further, perhaps walk through the Australia hinterland and at the end of the day have a well deserved Jacuzzi that has a view of the valley and beyond. The magical feature of these hotels or resorts is that the Australian Kangaroos and other wildlife inhabit the hinterland also. With this touring option you can also go via the Blue Mountains just outside Sydney for the best of the bush and features.

In Melbourne the hotels are all within the wide variety of shops, markets, and have sights of the gardens. But just outside Melbourne the Yarra Valley wine region also has its hotels where you can expect the best of wines, wildlife, and seclusion. Here you can have an escorted day or extended tours to take advantage of the region. If you are wanting to self drive, then this is a golden opportunity to also take advantage of Victoria’s (state of Melbourne) Spa Country. Daylesford and Hepburn Springs prides themselves on having spa resorts, a concentration of mineral springs, historic streets of days gone by, and romantic hideaways.

Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef but it is also within reach of some amazing Australian Hotels are Resort locations. It in the midst of where the rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef you can truly find an array of Australian Hotels and Resorts. These Rainforest resorts offer an opportunity for seclusion, relaxation, or activities to whatever you desire.

In the midst of the Barossa Valley outside Adelaide there are Australia hotels for you to enjoy the best and most well known wine region of Australia. A short flight from Adelaide is Kangaroo Island where wildlife touring is a premium and where you can encounter Australian Kangaroos, Koalas and Australian sealife.

The Australian Outback is a vastness that never ceased to amaze me. This huge interior of Australia has the most photogenic opportunities that surprised me every time that I visited it. The variety hotels and resorts of Ayers Rock, to the stations of the outback that you can discover life and the wildlife of the Australian Outback all have a unique Australian feel to them. The hotel in Ayers Rock where you can view this monolith from your room and Longitude 131, a private safari tent style accommodation has that compliments the surrounds with touring. The outback Hotels and resorts of northern Australia take advantage of their remoteness to showcase you the wildlife, the landscape and the spectacular sunsets of the Australia outback is a wonder not to be missed.

Australia Wine Tour, Melbourne Wine Tour to the Yarra Valley, Sydney tour to the Hunter Valley Wine Tour, Barossa Valley Wine Tour from Adelaide; Margaret River Wine Region from Perth.

Australia has more to offer than the Australia Outback, the Great Barrier Reef and world renowned icons such as the Sydney Opera House, the magnificent Sydney Harbor, and Ayers Rock. Australia produces world class wines in 4 very distinctive areas just outside major cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Sydney has the Hunter Valley, Melbourne has the Yarra Valley, Perth has the Margaret River wine region and Adelaide has several wine regions. They are the Barossa wine valley and the Clare wine valley. There are also wine trails, wine valley resorts with wildlife, and extended touring options to take full advantage of the best of the region that you are visiting.

Australian wine tours are a wonderful way to enjoy the fresh countryside air, see real wild Australian wildlife in the Australia native bush, and time just to sit back, relax and see a part of the Australian countryside. An Australian wine tour also allows you to enjoy fellow minded travelers and to swap stories of your Australian vacation so far.

Sydney wine tours of the Hunter Valley wine region allows you to stay in a Hunter Valley resort located where the Kangaroos graze in the nearby hinterland, you can sit on the balcony watching the sunset over the valley after a day of wineries discovery tours. A wine tour to the Hunter Valley takes a wide sweep to see the Blue Mountains, and the three sisters rock formation, or perhaps a cruise to see the dolphins of the coast north of Sydney.

Melbourne Wine Tour takes you via the Mornington Peninsula into the Yarra Valley. It is here that you can see the countryside via a hot air balloon ride with a champagne breakfast, ride on the Puffing Billy Train in the Dandenong ranges on the outskirt of Melbourne or combine with a parade of the penguins. A Melbourne Wine Tour Trail also has extended trips so you can enjoy the historical accommodations in the wineries of the Yarra Valley. To see the best of the region a Yarra Valley wine tour with the Great Ocean Road taking in the 12 Apostles and the shipwreck coast. The Great Ocean Road is voted Australia’s most popular driving route.

The Barossa Valley is located just outside of Adelaide, South Australia and it is called the Festival State. Wine Festivals are just one of the many that take place in South Australia each year and draws in people from around the world. The Barossa Valley is the most famous, but there is also the German Historic town of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, and the Clare Valley Wine Valley. There are Australian Wine Tours that can tour the entire regions mentioned, or you can just concentrate on one Wine Valley. Extended touring options are also an option that visit Kangaroo Island, the Eyre Peninsula, and can continue via the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne.

Australia Wine Tours not only concentrate on wine in their Australian regions, but also give you an opportunity to see a part of the Australian countryside that is not on the high tourist route. Great Barrier Reef Tours

The Great Barrier Reef in Australia can be seen from outer space, is a natural wonder of colors, intricate life between coral and fish. It surprised me how amazing the Great Barrier Reef is and each time it bedazzled me. The Great Barrier Reef is a natural wonder of different types of coral, fish, and sun makes the Great Barrier Reef a continuous experience of gleaming colors.

When I visited the Great Barrier Reef, I found it to be so much more delightful than I ever imagined. When I stayed on Heron Island, this was my first place to experience the Great Barrier Reef and found it to be wonderfully colorful. Scuba diving while surrounded by this underwater environment is an incredible experience. When I visited the Great Barrier Reef of the Cairns/Port Douglas area; I was still mesmerized by the Great Barrier Reef and its inhabitants.

You can visit the Great Barrier Reef on a day tour. There are also extended cruising options by a Great Barrier Reef yacht or cruise ship itinerary. Both of these options can be seen on my website at www.albeeco.com/qld.htm, it is here that you can choose a day or a yacht cruising itinerary. There is also an itinerary that you can explore Cape York, the peninsula of Northern Australia, or Queensland the Great Barrier Reef State of Australia.

As you can see my personal knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef and the Cairns/Port Douglas region sets myself apart. For advice, I encourage you to contact me direct at 888.500.2528 or email (click here)

Train Travel Australia Rail

Train travel in Australia is a wonderful way to discover the Australian outback. The Ghan Train from Adelaide to Darwin or the Indian Pacific train from Sydney to Perth assists you to discover the Australian Outback. Both train journeys can be taken in reverse which in either directions, permits you to get off the train to explore beyond the train stop.

On the Ghan Train journey you can explore Alice Springs, Ayers Rock with Kings Canyon, or Cooper Pedy. Cooper Pedy is about 80% built underground due to the heat in the summer, and is where Opals are mined. Even the hotels are built underground! With the extension of track to Darwin from Alice Springs the Ghan Train travels from Adelaide to Darwin for 1900 miles and whilst on the Ghan, there is still time to learn of the surrounds, but still continue on this trans-continental rail journey of Australian Rail.

The Indian Pacific train allows enough time to see the Australian wildlife on Kangaroo Island of Adelaide, or Rottnest Island just of Perth. The Indian Pacific is named because it goes from the Indian Ocean in Perth to the Pacific Ocean in Sydney. It truly does travel trans-continental Australia, an amazing 2700 miles from Blue Mountains, Outback towns and across the Nullarbor Plain. On the Indian Pacific it also holds the world’s longest length of straight track of 300 miles.

Train Travel Australia is a wonderful way to see this outback within Australia, the ever changing landscape and time to enjoy what train travel is all about. An Australian train journey can be combined with an independent Australian Vacation, or with an Australian Escorted tour. I have lived and visited every state in Australia and can help in planning an Australian and/or a New Zealand train or vacation to these very different but neighboring countries. With your vacation ideas and allow Murray, your Australian and New Zealand Travel specialist help you discover what Australian Train Travel is all about. Melbourne Day Tours

Melbourne Day Tours

I lived in Melbourne for just over 4 years and I visited many of the sights of Melbourne which is Australia’s second largest city. The day tours of Melbourne include to the marine and wildlife, and scenic icons. Melbourne is situated on Port Phillip Bay and the city sprawls around the bay.

About 2 hours drive from Melbourne is Phillip Island. It is here that the Penguin Parade occurs at dusk with the penguins returning after a day of feeding at sea to their burrows in the sand dunes. At the Penguin Parade there is also an opportunity to have a private and intimate group tour for 2 to 6 people is offered, and from a personal point of view; well worth the extra money.

For visitors that wish to see the more famous Australian wildlife icons; kangaroos and koalas with other Australian wildlife; a savannah walkabout tour is a wonderful experience. This guided eco naturalist walkabout tour takes you into a wildlife sanctuary of open grasslands and billabongs. Here you can see Kangaroos, Koalas, Emus, and other Australian native birdlife. This tour is conducted with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 people per tour. Seeing the Australia wildlife in this savannah is a wonderful and amazing adventure.

The Great Ocean Road is voted as Australia’s most scenic drive. Located along this drive is the surfing paradise of Bells Beach, the land feature 12 Apostles, which is a very full day, tour from Melbourne. This tour can be extended with wildlife experiences, or a Yarra Valley wine tour, or for the self drive traveler continues onto Adelaide. The Great Ocean drive can also take you into the mystical Grampians National Park or a circle drive via Ballarat. The photo on this Australian travel blog was taken just as the sun was starting to set over the 12 Apostles and the Antarctic Ocean. It was quite a sight to see and the photo developed much better than my memory of this natural phenomenon. My photo captures the 12 Aposotles with the sun setting in the evening and I used a color film producing an unusal result.

Self touring of Melbourne is such a fun experience. Bourke Street Mall is at the heart of the shopping, and then it springs out from there. Chapel Street, South Yarra is great for people watching, shopping for small design wares, and restaurants; it is only a 15 minute drive from the center of Melbourne City. Melbourne’s two inner city markets of Queen Victoria and South Melbourne Market; the later is my favorite. Here you can have a leisurely stroll and some really nice food. The dim sims that are either steamed or fried is delicious, and so are the jam filled donuts. So much for the diet! But hey you are on vacation and can walk it off. To the north of Melbourne CBD is Lygon Street, Carlton is known for truly Greek and Italian food.
